Why Contractors Switch From Shared Lead Networks

Shared lead platforms sell the same homeowner request to four or five contractors simultaneously. We don't. Here's what that means in practice.

Shared Lead Networks

  • 5-contractor dogpile on the same homeowner
  • Recycled and aged leads sold repeatedly
  • Bidding wars for the same homeowner
  • Per-lead pricing that spirals with demand
  • Leads routed to whoever pays the most, not by fit
  • Annual contracts with clawback provisions

PlumberRouter

  • One contractor per territory — exclusive lead access
  • Fresh requests only — never recycled or re-sold
  • No bidding — flat monthly subscription
  • Predictable monthly cost regardless of lead volume
  • Routed by ZIP code, project type, and territory fit
  • No long-term contract required — month-to-month

What Contractors Receive

Everything included in your subscription — no add-on fees for the core platform.

Lead Delivery

New homeowner requests routed to your account as they arrive. Full project details, contact information, timeline, and property type included with every lead.

Service-Area Targeting

Leads routed exclusively to your approved ZIP codes and metro territory. No overlap with other contractors on the platform in your assigned area.

Branded Landing Pages

Your subscription includes a co-branded homeowner landing page on the PlumberRouter platform — customized with your company name and plumbing service area — driving requests directly to your account.

SMS & Email Alerts

Instant notifications when a new lead arrives in your territory. Configurable by contact method so you respond before the homeowner moves on.

Reporting

Track leads received, reviewed, and disputed. Monthly summaries of your account activity, territory performance, and lead type breakdown.

Account Support

Dedicated onboarding, territory setup review, and ongoing support from the PlumberRouter contractor team. Reach us by email or phone during business hours.

CRM-Style Pipeline Tools

Manage leads through basic pipeline stages — new, contacted, estimate scheduled, closed, or passed. Track your conversion rate across all leads received from the platform.

What a Lead Looks Like

What Counts as a Valid Lead

Our lead quality policy is published and available to all contractor accounts. You know exactly what you're paying for before you apply.

Valid Lead Criteria

A lead is billable and counts against your account when all of the following are true:

  • Real homeowner or authorized property decision-maker
  • Valid, working phone number or email address
  • Plumbing-related project (repair, replacement, inspection, drains, or commercial plumbing)
  • Inside your approved service area ZIP codes
  • Not a duplicate of a prior submission from the same contact
  • Not a spam, test, or confirmed fraudulent submission

Reviewable / Creditable Leads

You may request a review for leads meeting any of the following conditions. Valid reviews are credited to your account:

  • Bad or non-working phone number and bad email
  • Address or ZIP outside your approved service territory
  • Confirmed duplicate submission from the same homeowner
  • Non-plumbing project (e.g., plumbing, HVAC, landscaping)
  • Confirmed spam or clearly fraudulent submission

Lead review requests must be submitted within 7 days of delivery. Review decisions are made within 2 business days. See full criteria in our Contractor Lead Policy.

Lead Quality Guarantee

If a lead does not meet our published valid lead criteria and you request a review within the review window, we will credit that lead to your account. Our policy is documented, consistent, and available to all contractor accounts before signup. We do not arbitrarily deny credits or impose caps on review requests for genuinely invalid leads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are leads truly exclusive?

Yes. Only one contractor is approved per service territory. When a homeowner request arrives matching your ZIP code and project type, it is routed to your account only — it is not sent to other contractors simultaneously or in sequence. If your territory is full, we will not accept additional contractors for that zone.

What makes a lead valid?

A valid lead is a submission from a real homeowner or property decision-maker with working contact information (phone or email), describing a plumbing-related project, within your approved service area, that has not been submitted previously by the same contact. The full criteria are published in our Contractor Lead Policy.

What if I receive a bad lead?

Submit a lead review request through your account within 7 days of receiving the lead. If the lead does not meet valid lead criteria — bad contact info, wrong territory, duplicate, non-plumbing request, or confirmed spam — we will credit it to your account. Review decisions are made within 2 business days. See our Contractor Lead Policy for full details.

How do service areas work?

When you apply, you specify the ZIP codes or metro area you want to cover. We check availability — if the territory is open, we configure your account to receive leads from those ZIP codes. One contractor is approved per territory. You may request territory adjustments as your business changes, subject to availability.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. Subscriptions are month-to-month after the trial period. You may cancel at any time. We do not require annual contracts or impose cancellation fees. Your territory is held for the duration of your active subscription.

How does the 14-day trial work?

After you submit your application and we confirm territory availability, your trial begins. No credit card is required to apply. During the 14-day trial you receive full account access and any leads that arrive in your territory. At the end of the trial, you decide whether to activate a paid subscription. We will not automatically charge you without your explicit confirmation.

How much lead volume can I expect?

Lead volume depends on homeowner demand in your service territory, seasonal activity, the size of your approved ZIP code coverage, and how actively we are marketing in your market. We do not promise a specific number of leads per month and will not guarantee minimums. We will give you an honest assessment of activity levels in your territory during the application review. Some markets will produce more leads than others.
